1. BRIEF HISTORY
Achiase Senior High School is located at Akim Achiase in the Birim South District of the Eastern Region of Ghana. The school was originally established by the Methodist Church, Ghana as a private school under the name Wesley Day Secondary School in May 1983. The school started in a two-storey building opposite the Presbyterian Schools under Reverend Kenartey Essel. It was later re-located the former Achiase Local Authority Middle “B” School.
The church managed the school until it became difficult for it to pay the salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff members of the school. It took the courage and dedcication of Mr. Robert Kwasi Amoah, the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the South Birim Rural Bank who was then one of the teachers to single handedly manage the school and pay the salaries of the staff out of his own resources until it was absorbed into the public system by the Ghana Education Service.
Currently it serves the community and the country at large with the coming in of the computerized school
