ADVENTIST SENIOR HIGH/TECHNICAL SCHOOL, KOFIASE
The vision of the school is to educate and equip students with both theoretical and practical know ledge for all subjects; to make the school centre of academic excellence comparable to other schools in the country and to produce students who can function effectively and efficiently in the school, society and the nation as a whole in future.
The mission of the school is to provide, a comprehensive training for holistic development of students who will be morally upright, competent, committed and dedicated to the school and the nation as a whole.
To ensure the attainment of the vision, the following strategies are adopted;
- To attract, recruit and train highly qualified staff for the school.
- To improve the quality of teaching and learning
- To improve management efficiency.
- Admit qualified students at the B. E. C. E level into the school.
- Ensure that students are supplied with the relevant teaching and learning materials.
- Ensure that parents and guardians provide all the materials needs of these.
- Motivate the staff to put in their best in all field of learning.
- SCHOOL MOTTO
The Philosophy of the school is expressed in her motto “seasoned with salt”. salt in this context being any action, thought or behaviour that is capable of yielding useful, practicable and beneficial results for staff and students on one hand and parents and guardians on the other hand. Once admitted into the school, every student is expected to uphold and live by the motto of the school in all aspects of their life and with dignity as failure to do so may results in his or her withdrawal from the institution.
The crest which is the symbol of the institution has the following features. At the left is microscope which signifies science, right has hammer which also signifies technical aspect. The crest has Seventh-day Adventist logo in the middle. The frame represents Holy Spirit, cross represent Jesus Christ, Holy Bible represents spiritual or word of God and the book represents the intellectual aspect of the students life.
- BRIEF HISTORY
The school was established in October, 2002 by Kofiase Seventh-day Adventist Church and Kofiase community in Kumasi, notably among them were the late Pastor J.K. Amoah, Pastor J. K. Anto, Mr. K. O. Afriyie, Mr. K. O. Adjare, former Ghana Union Conference President Pastor P. O. Mensah, some prominent Kofiase citizens and other innumerable personalities with the aim of providing secondary education to Junior High School leavers to enable them pursue higher studies. With the initial enrolment of sixty-six students and five tutors the school was founded in October, 2002. The first Headmaster of the school was Pastor Dasebre Nsiah Appiah. The second Headmaster of the school, who put the school at great level and whose term the school was absorbed by the Government, was Pastor Kofi Gyimah Yamoah.
