AGONA SENIOR HIGH TECHNICAL SCHOOL, AGONA – ASHANTI

1. MISSION STATEMENT
To provide suitable General and Technical education to Ghanaian boys and girls to enable them acquire the relevant knowledge and skills that will let them develop their talents/potentials and be productive to facilitate national development.

2. VISION STATEMENT
To make the school a centre of academic and moral excellence that will impact high moral and academic standards into the students.

3. BRIEF HISTORY
Agona Senior High Technical School was an L/A Primary School and Junior Secondary School which were converted into a Secondary-Technical School in 1991. It has the advantage of being the only Technical School in the Afigya Sekyere, Sekyere East, Sekyere Central, Ejura Sekyeredumase and Kwabre Districts as well as the Mampong Municipality. And from very humble beginnings, it now has a student population of 1600, teaching staff population of 74 and 45 non-teaching staff.
Fortunately, the school boasts of a dynamic PTA. Currently, it is undertaking the building of a three-storey 18-classrom block and the first floor is being used whilst construction work has started on the second floor.
School administration is currently undertaking the following projects through IGF and/or SRC Levies: sportsfield, a two-storey boys’ dormitory in addition to two annexes to the girls’ dormitory, a computer lab, library block and fence wall.
