4. BRIEF HISTORY OF INSTITUTION
Assin North senior High School formerly known as Assin North Secondary Technical School was established in 1985 by six communities in Assin North District – Asempanaye, Dansame, Achiano, Kushea, Praso and Breman.
The main reason for its establishment was to cater for the secondary cycle educational needs of the children in these communities.
Mr. Owusu Ansah became the acting headmaster and Mr. Kusi Yeboah, the assistant headmaster. The school was absorbed by Ministry of Education in September, 1990 to start the senior secondary school Educational reform. Mr. Francis Danquah from Assin Manso secondary school was posted to head the school. Mr. Owusu Ansah then became assistant headmaster.
After the retirement of Mr. Francis Danquah in October, 2008, Mr. Charles Rufus Quansah was posted from Adisadel College, Cape Coast to take over the administration of the school from Mr. Danquah. Mr. Quansah is now the headmaster of the school assisted by Mr. Eric Ayimadu.

6. MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS OVER THE YEARS.
• In 2008, inter school debate competition at Assin Foso, the school placed First. Inter Districts competition in Cape Coast the school was third.
• In 2008, inter Districts constitutional game at cape coast, the school was third.
• In 2009, inter districts constitutional games at cape coast the school was fourth.
• In 2009, inter schools Kwame Nkrumah Centenary Quiz at Assin Foso, the school was first and inter-zonal at Twifo Praso, the school was second.
