- A BRIEF HISTORY
NAME: Initially, the school was known and called Ave – Dakpa Senior Secondary School, situated at Ave – Dakpa town.
The problem as observed by the Board of Governors about this name has its limited scope in projecting the town location instead of the entire Ave people. The change of name to Ave Senior Secondary School, Ave – Dakpa, effective on 13th June 1995 was essentially to identify the school with the AVE PEOPLE. The current name of the school is called AVE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, based on a government directive to all Senior Secondary schools.
DATE: The school was opened on 28th January, 1991.
LOCATION: The school was opened at Ave –Dakpa J. S. S. compound temporarily. Efforts to acquire a permanent site materialized in the provision of a 47 – acre piece of land, overlooking the Dakpa Dam on the West of the Ho – Denu trunk road. The school moved to the new site after a 3 – unit workshop was constructed, that was in the same year, (1991).
