The school motto is “Non Scholae Sed Vitae Discimus” meaning “We learn not for school but for life”.
Christian Methodist Senior High School was established in September, 1960 by the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church of United States of America as a private co-educational institution. It was absorbed into the Public Educational System in September, 1965. The school was originally located at Asylum Down, near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in rented premises. The school is currently located at New Aplaku, Weija in the Ga South Municipality in its permanent structures. The school moved to the present site in September 2009.

- ACHIEVEMENTS OVER THE YEARS
SSCE/WASSCE
The school has been scoring between 85% to 100% in SSCE/WASSCE. However, the quality of passes is not so good and the number of students who qualified for tertiary institutions ranges from 18% to 40%. In the 2009 Analysis of WASSCE results by the Ga South Municipal Education Department, Christian Methodist Senior High School scored 82% in the core subjects to top the three schools in the municipality. Odorgonno scored 78% with Ngleshie Amanfro scoring 75%. The school scored 94.5% in English Language; 99.4% in Social Studies; 77.0% in Integrated Science and 58.5% in Core Mathematics. The school also recorded zero registration of absentees.

Classrooms: The school has two (2) blocks of unit classrooms. The Girls Dormitory has been converted to 18 unit classrooms.
Laboratories: Three (3) classrooms have been converted to Science Laboratories.

- STAKEHOLDERS
The PTA has been supporting the school financially over the years. They have provided the school with a 25 Seater Bens Bus which is the only bus currently used by the school. Currently, they have started fencing the school and have intention of landscaping the school compound. The PTA is also helping the school to set-up a computer laboratory.
