COLLINS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, AGOGO
- INTRODUCTION & HISTORY
Collins Senior High School, formerly Collins Secondary Commercial School was founded by Mr. Victor Collins Asabere on 24th January 1954 with 18 boys and girls. The motto of the school in Latin I s “FULGI ID ANGULUS” translated into English as “BRIGHTERN THE CORNER WHERE YOU ARE”. The school was originally sited at Obuasi, a suburb of Agogo.
The school was absorbed into the public Education system in 1967 through government directives in 1965; still under the leadership of the founder, Mr. Victor Collins Asabere.
As a result of government takeover, the population of the school increased and this called for expansion in infrastructure. The late Agogohene Nana Kwaku Duah I, in consultation with the principal elders of the town threw in the assistance by offering a 65-qcre land on the Konongo-Agogo road for a permanent site for the school. By 1970, the student population had increased to 350.
In 1974, the founder was transferred to the Ashanti Regional Education Office and was replaced by Mr. Robert Mensah.
