- BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Hohoe E.P. Senior High School was established in 1961 as a co-educational institution. The school was opened on Thursday, 28th September 1961 at the old site of the United Trading Company and United African Company (UTC/UAC) buildings within Hohoe Township. It started with fifty-five students, seven teaching and seven non-teaching staff.
The school, during its formative years, was confronted with major challenges and teething problems relating to staffing, inadequate accommodation and facilities for effective teaching and learning. With the rapid growth of the school, it became obvious that the old site could no longer accommodate the school conveniently.
On Monday 17th February, 1969, the people of Gbi-Bla and Hohoe donated 225,337 acres of land for the permanent buildings to be constructed to re-house the school.
Consequently, a section of the school moved to the present permanent site located behind the Cocoa Marketing Board regional offices at Adabraka- Hohoe on the 5th of October, 1973. Since then, the school has seen only moderate improvement in its infrastructure and academic facilities.
