The bitumen surface road runs from Bekwai into the school premise, through a dual carriage entrance road.

  1. VISION:

The school, like any other educational institution has a noble role to offer, according to the needs and dictate of the nation Ghana.  Our vision is in line with the broad vision of the Ghana Education Service to provide pre-tertiary Education in the country and in our case, secondary and Technical Education to Junior high school graduates in the Amansie East in particular and Ghana as a whole.

  1. MISSION:

Our mission is in keeping with the broad educational policy of the government but we aim to provide quality and holistic education particularly to children of this deprived area of the Amansie East of Ashanti; of course, children from all parts of Ghana are also welcome.

  1. SCHOOL CREST AND MOTTO:

The school crest depicts a triangular shaped boundary with one of the vertices pointing downwards on a vertical axis. It is closed at the top with a horizontal view of gear in orthographic and intersected with a similar design at mid point of the horizontal.  The vertical bisector projects a little above the horizontal, but has a greater length down wards.  The two intersected horizontal and vertical gear train depicts a symbolic crucifix   usually displayed in many catholic schools like ours. This symbol conscientises our minds to visualize the suffering of Christ and guide us to do good in all our endeavours.  On the left side of the crucifix, bounded by the isosceles type of triangle shows a meshing gear coupling to indicate that the school is technically oriented. On the right hand of the crucifix explains brightening the corner where ever one may be and keeping the torch burning in academics, that each product from the school could become useful role models in the community which they would eventually find themselves after course of study.  Above all an inscription written at the lower portion of the isosceles triangle reads INTEGRITY our motto. Find attach the school crest.

  1. SCHOOL ACADEMIC FACILITIES:

St. Joseph Senior High Technical School can presently boast of the following facilities: 20 unit permanent classrooms, 4 temporal classrooms, a computer laboratory with 10 used computers, 20 flat screen new computers, a technical workshop complex for wood work and block laying, a library though a temporal one with modern   text books, an  internet facility and an open recreational grounds  that accommodates volley pitches, a standardized temporal oval running tracks and a  beautiful playing field.  Attach is a picture showing students at the school library.

  1. CO – CURRICULA ACTIVITIES:

St. Joseph Senior High Technical School does grounds work on every Tuesday of the week. Besides fortnight inspections for environmental cleanliness is encouraged to improve sanitary conditions.  Again, the school has cultivated a school farm to produce palm fruits, maize, and plantain to supplement school feeding programme.

Further more, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.  This saying has necessitated the establishment of school drama group, debating society, cultural group, cadet, choreography and others just to mention a few.  Indeed their activities enhance academics in the area of fluency in English and an improved expression of English. Attach are pictures of these groups.

  1. STAKEHOLDERS:
  1. PAST STUDENTS :

The infant stage past students association is regularly in touch with School management to make an impact to promote development in their alma-mater. The association has donated some bags of cement towards the construction of a new School library. The past students association is represented by Mr. Samuel Opoku. The “Saints” well done. A past student outside the country is working out a scholarship package for the brilliant but needy students.

  1. PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTA) :

P.T.A has been the major back bone of the School management in getting its problems solved. The P.T.A provided track suits to the Schools athletes, a satellite dish for multi channels to the Schools television services and finally constructed four classrooms and two offices to accommodate SHS 1 students in the 2010/11 academic year.

Again P.T.A has been supportive to staff motivation incentive package to encourage teachers and non-teaching to give out their best. We are grateful to P.T.A.

However, the classroom which was earmarked for completion in two years was granted for an initial one year period after which an extension of another year could be applied for completion. Picture of the P.T.A classroom is shown for your perusal.

  1. TRADITIONAL AUTHORITY :

The traditional rulers of the Ahwiren community are represented on the Schools board of Governors by Nana Aduse-Poku Amponsem, an eminent accountant by profession. Nana Ahwirenhene with the support of committee members swiftly report recalcitrant students who break bounds to School management for punishment and counseling. This positive attitude has indeed helped to check indiscipline in students from outside the School perimeter.

  1.  MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY:

The Municipal Assembly under the able leadership of Honourable Noah Asante Manu and Member of Parliament Hon. Joseph Osei Owusu has been of tremendous assistance to the School’s development. The Hon. Noah Asante Manu MCE for Bekwai Municipal spear headed the construction of a boys’ dormitory yet to be completed, provided 400 mono desk for the 2010/11 SHS 1 students. He also assisted in securing a school bus which he commissioned during the 20th anniversary celebration of the school. Finally he provided 100 bags of cement towards constructional work.

Again the Hon. Member of Parliament MP for Bekwai Municipal supplemented development in the School by donating 300 bags of cement towards construction of library, 2 footballs and a set of jersey to the School. Indeed their mutual co operation is worth emulating.

  1. CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF OBUASI:

St. Joseph Senior High Technical School falls under the umbrella of most Rev. J. Gabriel Anokye, Catholic bishop of Obuasi diocese. The Bishop’s official annual visit to celebrate mass on St. Joseph Day every 19th March and occasional unofficial visits either personally or through his representative on the School board is a source of inspiration to management.

The Diocese provides School management and the entire School Community with Spiritual needs.
