KALEO SENIOR HIGH TECHNICAL SCHOOL

- BRIEF HISTORY OF KALEO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
The school is in the Upper West Region in the Nadowli District. It is 14.5 kilometres from Wa the regional capital. It is located at the western part of Kaleo along the Catholic Mission road.
1991- School opened with an old four classroom block of St Dominic JHS.
6th July 1991 – Foundation for a three classroom block was laid by Bro. Gregory.
5th May 1992 – The school was commissioned by the first Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings
28th July 1992 – Commissioning of three classroom block and staff quarters by PNDC Deputy Regional Secretary.
3rd March 1993 School received a two wheeled single cabin pick-up No GVD 2541 from MOE EdSac.
3Oth July 1993 – School received ISUZU NPR NO. GVO 2946 from a German based NGO, The KINDERMISSIONWERKS WORKS
9th November, 1993 – School’s first experience of external examination SSCE.
14th March 1994 – Two students left for Accra to receive 1st position award on Blood Transfusion service by Freemasons.
4th October, 1996 – Inauguration of the first Board of Governors for the school.
19th May 1997 – Landlords demarcated school land area to school administration.
18th March 2002- Visit of staff of Secondary Education Division from National Headquarters to ascertain the choice of Kaleo Secondary Technical for the President’s model school concept.
19th March 2005 – First speech and Prize giving day
27th February, 2006 – Feeding of students by Government subvention commenced.
6th July, 2007 – School computer laboratory was commissioned together with school cloth by His Excellency the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Aliu Mahama.
25th April 2008- A substantive Assistant Headmistress was posted to the school
30th June 2008 – New GETFUND BUS NO. GV805 Z arrived at school.
22nd September, 2009 Change of Headship handing over done
26th January 2010, – Inauguration of Vodafone telephone booths installed for students
STATUS : Boarding for both males and females
- MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
SSCE/WASSCE – From 2005 the school registered 100% passes in both SSCE and WASSCE up to date, 2009.
Regional Games
1991 – The school came out as Champions in the Regional Milo Games for Senior Secondary Schools.
1992 – The school was first in the Regional Inter-schools and Colleges with the best footballer and athlete.
