4. BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

Kete Krachi Senior High Technical School was opened on 28^th January, 1991 by Mr. L.A.Y. Kokroko the first Headmaster.

The school was established on the premises of experimental Junior Secondary School at Buntugu a suburb of Kete Krachi

The school started with only one teacher that was the headmaster in January 1991. Between February and June 1991, three National Service Personnel and one professional teacher joined the staff. By the end of the year 1991, the school had five members of staff.

The school is a day school.

5. ACHIEVEMENTS:

WASSCE

The school presented sixty-one regular candidates for the 2008 WASSCE. The percentage pass was 98%.

The school presented one hundred and twenty-nine regular candidates for the 2009 WASSCE. The percentage pass was 100%.

REGIONAL GAMES:

2008

KRASTEC participated in the 2008 edition of the Annual Inter-Schools Sports competition in Soccer, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Handball, Cross Country and Athletics at Bueman Senior High School. Out of the sixteen schools that participated, KRASTEC came 2^nd with four Gold and one Silver.

At the Supper Zonals at Hohoe E.P. Senior High School, KRASTEC had two Gold medals and one Silver medal.

2009

KRASTEC participated in the 2009 edition of the Annual Inter Schools Sports competition in Soccer, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Handball, Basketball, Cross-Country and Athletics at Nkonya Senior High Technical school. Out of the thirteen schools that participated, KRASTEC came second (2^nd) with seven gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals.

At the Regional Inter-Zonal Sports Festival held at Kpando Senior High School, two students from KRASTEC were selected from Upper North Zone to join the regional team.

One of them took the bronze medal in the 400 metre race at the National Sports Festival in Accra.

2010

KRASTEC participated in the 30^th Edition of the Annual Inter-Schools Sports competition in Soccer, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Handball, Basketball, Cross-Country and Athletics at the Nkwanta Senior High School. Out of the sixteen schools that participated, KRASTEC came second (2^nd).

CULTURE

KRASTEC participated in the inter-schools bi-annual 2^nd cycle festival of arts and culture zone ‘8’ at Dambai in July, 2008. KRASTEC took the first position in Choral, Poetry recital and Dance.

At the Regional Festival of Arts and Culture, in August, 2008, KRASTEC represented zone 8 and came 2^nd in Poetry, 3^rd in Choral and 5^th in Dance.

Non- Academic:

The school has a sports field made-up of a soccer pitch, volleyball court, handball court etc. mainly for recreational activities. The community also share in the use of this facility.
