KUMBUNGU SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

1. VISION

A High School of excellence that provides quality education to students to enhance human resource development in the district and the nation as a whole.

2. MISSION STATEMENT

To provide secondary education that will contribute to the human resource development of the nation through the creation and maintenance of an enabling teaching/learning environment that will promote the acquisition by students of relevant knowledge, aptitudes and attitudes which meet the educational, social and cultural needs of the community and Ghana as a whole.

3. MOTTO OF SCHOOL

The motto of the school is “Knowledge and Hard Work”.

4. BRIEF HISTORY

Kumbungu Secondary School now known as Kumbungu Senior High School was established in January 1991 following the Education Reform Programme in Ghana which started in 1987.  The school is community-based and it is location in Kumbungu in the Tolon-Kumbungu District of the Northern Region.  It is a day school but has limited hostel facilities for both boys and girls.

7. General Arts: Ghanaian Language, Islamic Studies, Economics, History, Government, Elective Mathematics
8. STAKEHOLDERS

Kumbungu Senior High School old students are making frantic efforts by holding meeting to form a viable old students’ body in order to be able to assist the school.

There is a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) which has been assisting in the provision of teaching and learning facilities with limited financial resources generated through PTA dues.

The Tolon/Kumgungu District Assembly is yet to inject massive infrastructural support for the school.  A staff bungalow is under construction by the District Assembly but classroom infrastructure is yet to be tackled.
