3. BRIEF HISTORY
The name of the school is Mansoman Senior High School.
It was established in1973 at Manso Atwere in the Amansie West District of Ashanti Region by the elders of the town as a private school. The school started as a community school and was housed in the community center at Manso Atwere. It absorbed into the Public system by the Ghana Education Service in1976.
It moved to the present site in 1994 after operating at the community centre and the present L/A Primary School premises for 21 years.
The school started with two main programmes, namely General Arts and Business. Later in 1990 General Science was added.
The school has a Science Resource Centre. The satellite schools that use the centre are Manso Adubia Senior High and Esaase Senior High Technical School.
It is of interest to know that the school has been earmarked as a model school for the Amansie West District. However we are yet to see what it will be Equipped as such. The school runs as a boarding as well as a day institution. The day students are more than those in the boarding House.
Even though the school is 37 years old, the school has no Dining hall, Assembly Hall, decent Dormitories, Library, Staff Bungalow, etc; however, it has a Science Resource Laboratory and inadequate number of classroom.
