4. BRIEF HISTORY OF INSTITUTION

After failing in several attempts to establish a secondary school in Nkenkaasu, the Queen mother saw the need to try again so she organized a fund raising durbar after which she charged the town council to appoint a management board to establish one.

This was done and on 3^rd October 2006 Nkenkaasu Senior High was born as a private school with thirty-two students and two tutors. Two weeks later two other masters joined the staff.  As at now we have five hundred students and thirty-two teaching and non-teaching staff.

The school was finally absorbed as a public institution this academic year, 2010/2011 as a recognized government school.

YEAR OF ESTABLISHMENT: 3^RD October 2006 but was taken over by the government in September 2010
