4. BRIEF HISTORY OF THE INSTITUTION
The official registered name of the school is NYINAHIN CATHOLIC SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. It was established in 1991 and is located at Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua district of Ashanti region of the Republic of Ghana. For more enquiries, call on the telephone number: C/O the headmaster, 0242179178.
Since the school is a mission school, specifically a catholic school, the following anniversaries are being observed annually; Ash Wednesday, Lent, Palm Sunday, All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
5. MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS OVER THE YEARS
Although in terms of years of establishment and the infrastructure, the school is very young, it has been fiercely competing with the old and well – endowed schools in the district and the region both in curricula and co – curricula activities. Undoubtedly the school proud itself with the following achievements. In connection with academic;
i. the school won the top spot in I2 CAP – an I C T competition organized for all the Senior High Schools in the region in 2006 / 2007 academic year.
ii. fourth in the regional S T M E clinic organized in Ashanti in 2006.
iii. the school came third in I 2 CAP, which was organized at the national level in 2007 / 2008 academic year.
iv. First in inter – school debate organized in the district.
On co – curricula activities, Dynamic NCASS has well – established and inaugurated school cadet corp and an enticing school brass band. Again, the school was in the first position of an inter – district cultural festival in drum language, organized for the second cycle institutions in the region.
6. STATUS OF THE SCHOOL AND FACILITIES
The school was established officially as a day school however, it now has boarding facilities which have necessitated for the school to smoothly operate in a full boarding system.
7. SCHOOL FACILITIES
Academic
The school is endowed with the following facilities which make the school an attractive and fertile environment for academic success.
a) Three separate classroom blocks with total number of fifteen. Each classroom has a good ventilation, adequate lightening system and comfortable dual desks.
b) A library with a seating capacity of thirty – six. This academic facility was established in 2006 /2007 academic year and has a conducive atmosphere suitable for an intensive academic excellence. It is grossly stocked with varieties of books.
With this, the facility needs to be stocked with more modern books from Ministry of Education, philanthropists, non – governmental organizations and other stakeholders to help better expand and equip the facility with modern educational materials to meet the current demands of the school and also to help students to abreast themselves with the current trent of education.
c) Through the efforts of the Ministry of Education, the school is blessed with different kinds of textbooks of different subjects.
d) The importance I C T plays in this era of globalization cannot be overlooked. With this, the government in its educational wisdom has introduced Information Communication Technology in all Senior High Schools nationwide, which our school is a beneficiary. Knowing this, the school is boasting of having an I C T centre with twenty (20) seating capacity.
With regards to non – academic facilities, NCASS has recreational grounds such as field and an improvised volley ball court.

b. Agricultural Science: Horticulture, Crop Husbandry, Chemistry, General Agricultural, Biology, Elective Mathematics
c. General Arts: Geography, Government, Elective Mathematics, Economics, Literature in English, CRS, Twi, French, History.
9. CO- CURRICULA ACTIVITIES
A vibrant, successful and formidable debate club, dynamic and exuberant school choir with good membership drive, spirited and bouncing scripture union, registered and inaugurated cadet corp with a balanced membership drive in terms of gender, and committed school guidance and counseling centre, headed by an experienced counseling coordinator are the major co – curricula activities in the school. Indeed, the counseling unit in the school has been doing wonderfully well in its guest to ensuring moral discipline among the student so that the mission and the vision of the school can be realized.
