4. BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
The school was founded on 25th October, 1963 as a teacher training college with eighty (80) students comprising sixty (60) boys and twenty (20) girls. It was converted into a Secondary School on October 5th, 1972 with an initial intake of thirty – eight (38) students by an ACT of Government Policy. The training college was completely phased out in 1974. The first Principal of the training college was a white man, Mr. L. H. Berlin whilst the first Headmaster of the Secondary School was Mr. I. K. Ansong of blessed memory. The following list of past and present Headmasters and / or Principals is as given below.

5. IMPORTANT SCHOOL DATES
a. 25th October, 1963 : Establishment of the institution as a training college
b. 5th October, 1972 : Admission of first batch of Secondary students
c. June, 1974 : Last batch of training college student passed out
d. 25th October, 1988 : 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee)
e. 25th October, 2003 : 40th Anniversary
f. 27th January, 2008 : Air Force Cadet Corps inaugurated

7. SCHOOL FACILITIES
The school has the following facilities:
A boys dormitory of that accommodate 240 students,
A girls’ dormitory of capacity 280;
A 300 capacity dining hall;
and 13 semidetached teachers bungalows.

8. STAKEHOLDERS
i. Old Students Association contribution include
• Partnership with PTA and School in putting up a unit, 2-storey classroom block
• Provision of computers
• Provision of library books
• Provision of organ
• Counseling services
ii. Parent Teacher Association (PTA) contribution include
• Erection of classroom blocks in partnership with Old Students Association and the school
• Establishment of an ICT centre
• Provision of boreholes in partnership with WASAN and mechanized dug well
• Provision of two (02) vehicles an Urvan TD fifteen (15) seater and Cosmos two hundred and eighteen (218) Bus thirty – four (34) seater.
• Provision of monetary incentive to teachers.
iii. Traditional Authority:
• Release fifty (50) ha one hundred and twenty – five (125) of land for establishment of the school.

• Provision of borehole in partnership with school
• Supply of building materials eg. Cement, roofing sheets
• Award of scholarship to needy students
