1. VISION OF THE SCHOOL
The vision of the school is to become a beacon of hope for the underprivileged people of this community. To be a school of academic excellence capable of providing quality education to meet the aspiration of all stakeholders. To churn out people who will be beneficial to the community and the society they find themselves in.
To develop infrastructure for conducive learning environment.

2. MISSION
The mission of the school is to provide quality Secondary education for students of this community. To provide quality teaching and learning environment that will equip students with basic life skills and vocations to make them whole. This will be done through
 Ensuring that the fundamental objectives of the school and curriculum are achieved.
 Improving the infrastructure and providing a healthy school environment.
 Recruitment and retention of the best staff.
 Creating a motivating environment for teaching and learning.
 Adapting teaching methods to the needs of students.
 Frequent organization of in-service training to sharpen the skills of teachers and to bring them to be abreast of current trends in the teaching profession.
 The improvement of positive teacher-student relationship.

3. SCHOOL CREST AND MOTTO
Tanyigbe Senior High School crest is made up of the following pictures:
(a) a book, a fountain pen and an ink container
(b) a bowl and a plate
(c) a hoe and a matchet.
The book, the fountain pen, and the ink container signifies that the school gives liberal education to its students. The bow and the plate imply that the school offers Home Economics courses which prepare the students for vocation. The hoe and the matchet also mean that the school trains the students in the field of Agriculture which is the backbone of the country.
The motto for this noble institution is ‘#li Vevie’ This is an Ewe expression meaning ‘Strive hard’. It implies that when one comes to this school to offer any of the three courses one should not expect success on silver platter, rather, one should work very hard to achieve it.

4. HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Tanyigbe Senior High School was established and absorbed into the public system in 1991 as a community based secondary school. It occupies the erstwhile E.P. Middle school at Tanyigbe-Kpodzi, in the Ho Municipality. It is located on the Ho-Kpalime (Togo) road, about 11 kilometres from Ho, the capital town of the Volta Region.
STATUS OF INSTITUTION AND FACILITIES
Even though the school has a population of about five hundred students it has only a hostel for some few students. The rest are day students.

5. MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
For the past six years the school has scored 100% passes at the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
The school usually participates in Zonal, District and Regional Athletics, games, Cultural activities, and Debate competitions. The school can boast of a long distance runner up to the National level. The silver Medal winner of the National Tae-Kwondo completion (female) held in Accra in February 2011 is a student of this school.

Tanyigbe Senior High School has no recreational grounds. The students used the community ground which is nearby.

7. ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES
General Arts: Government, Economics, Geography French, Literature in English, EWE and Elective Mathematics
The Business (Accounting option): Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Introduction to Business Management, Economics, Elective Mathematics
Home Economics: Management –In – Living, Food and Nutrition, Clothing and Textiles, Chemistry, French and Biology.
Agricultural Science: General Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, horticulture and Crop husbandry, Elective Mathematics and Animal husbandry.

8. CO-CURRICULA ACTIVITIES
The school has the following clubs which organize their activities at specific periods within the week.
1. School choir 4. Home Makers Club
2. Debating club 5. HIV – AIDS Awareness club.
3. Cultural club
The students participate in Sports at the school, Zonal and District levels of competitions.

9. STAKE HOLDERS
Old Students:
This Association is now in the process of formation
Parent – Teacher Association:
The P.T.A is very vibrant. It has provided the school with classroom furniture, and a canteen . It takes responsibility for other things like repairs at the hostel and the library.

Traditional Authority: Provided land for establishment of the school. They also help to solve problems if there are any issues between the school and the community.
The Municipal Assembly: In conjunction with some NGOs, have funded a 2 unit classroom block. Labour for building it was provided by the community.
