WULENSI SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

1. VISION:

To ensure that the quality of education delivery in this school is raised to the level comparable to the best Senior High School in Ghana

2. MISSION:

To mobilize all the human and material resources available to this School so as to ensure the successful completion of all students that pass through it.

3. SCHOOL CREST AND MOTTO:

This stands for education and agriculture as tools for development and is portrayed by a cutlass and a hoe crossed at the centre. Below the crossed tools is an opened book signifying knowledge. The motto of the school is stated in Dagbani as “Bangsimn nye Kpeng” meaning knowledge is power.

4. BRIEF HISTORY:

(i)             The school was established in 1991 as part of the 1987 Education reform in Ghana

(ii)           It is located in Wulensi, the capital town of the Nanumba South District of Northern Region. The school can be found to the Southern end of the town on the Kpandai road.

STATUS

The school is largely boarding.

5. SCHOOL FACILITIES

(a)           Classrooms:- These are  fifteen in all.

(b)           There is no science laboratory. There is however a computer laboratory.

(c)            The school has a library stocked with a little over 2,000 books Covering almost all subjects taught in the school.

(d)           The school has a sports oval located to the north-eastern corner of the compound.

6. ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

The school offers three academic programmes. There are General Arts, Business and General Agriculture.

7. STAKEHOLDERS:

• There is an active P.T.A. which has supported the school over the years
• The traditional authority under the leadership of the chief of
• the town shows much interest in the life of the school
• The District Assembly has also provided a lot of support for the school.
